In this very long (30 seconds) exposure image, captured on Monday night by US Army photographer Jason Johnston, a US soldier observes a combined arms live-fire exercise at the Bucierz Range as part of Phase II of DEFENDER-Europe 20 on Drawsko Pomorskie Training Area area in Poland. It is our intention to bring readers a fuller report on these interesting Polish-US cooperative manoeuvres in the not too distant future, using a combination of Polish and US Army photographers’ in-close images and my own overview photos of the daytime battle, but this shot of Jason’s struck me as being just too good to hold back.
